Indian Army Chief General V K Singh has come out with serious allegations and facts which have raised many concerns about the capabilities and standards of Indian Army.

Earlier, the Army Chief was in news on his age row which settled against him by the order of the Supreme Court. But this time, the issue is much bigger and serious.

He claimed that some one has approached him to take bribe of Rs. 14 crore for the Army truck purchase which he had declined. The approaching person told him that earlier officers had done that earlier also. The Army Chief informed the Defence Minister about this incident but nothing was done in concrete. The Defence Minister came out against these allegations and declined these kind of things.

Now both the Army Chief and Defence Minister seems in a mood of war against each other and it will be interesting to find out who is lying in this case.

The Army Chief also mentioned the sorry state of the Indian Army in a letter to the PM. He mentioned in the letter which got leaked that the Army is short of tank ammunition, obsolete air defence system, ill equipped special forces etc. These allegations are quite serious and raised many questions.

It is important to find out that who has leaked this letter as it shouldn’t have happened as this letter was very confidential and carry very crucial facts. It also seems that the Army Chief also has appreached the discipline line.

Now the controversy between the government and the Army Chief has reached to unprecedented level and it has taken a very dirty turn. The experts believe that the government is trying to find out the ways to sack the Army Chief before his timely retirement.

The matter will not get solved by sacking the Army Chief but to investigate the facts and if there is any truth in the allegations, serious steps needed to be taken timely to make the Indian Army better equipped and to maintain international standards.
